Experience the thrill of racing in your own road car and compete in the Baltic Time Attack round at Biķernieki on 3rd May

The Baltic Time Attack series will already this week – on 3rd May – hold its opening round at the Biķernieki Circuit as part of the “WashCar Riga Summer Race” circuit racing festival, where any car enthusiast with a road or race car can take part. Registration for the competition is still open, so we invite you to use this opportunity to enjoy the exciting Biķernieki track in full race mode.

What is Baltic Time Attack? It is a competition where the goal for participants is to set the fastest possible lap times. Although there are several drivers on track at the same time, they do not compete directly with each other, as everyone is trying to find free space on track in order to complete their fastest laps without interruption. The competition format provides each participant with three 20-minute sessions, which means a full hour of competitive track time. To determine the final result, the two best laps from two different sessions are combined.

Time Attack competitions in all three Baltic states have grown increasingly popular in recent years, therefore the goal of the Baltic Time Attack series is to bring together the fastest drivers from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Already last season, which was the first after several years of interruption, 35 participants competed throughout the season, however this year that number is expected to be even higher.

Just like in 2025, this season the series will consist of three rounds, which will take place in all three Baltic countries – the season will begin on 3rd May at the Biķernieki Circuit in Latvia, then move to Estonia where the next round will take place on August 30 at the Porsche Ring, while the season finale will be held on October 17 at the Nemuno Žiedas in Lithuania. It should be noted that the first two rounds will take place within the Baltic Touring Car Championship events “WashCar Riga Summer Race” and “Pärnu Summer Race”, while the season finale will be held together with Lithuania’s Ring Challenge.

Baltic Time Attack participants are divided into seven competition classes. Five of them are intended for road cars – BS2, BS3, BS4, BSP3 and BSP4. The first three classes – BS2, BS3 and BS4 – divide road cars by engine displacement: BS2 is for cars with engines up to 2 litres, BS3 from 2 to 3 litres, while BS4 is for cars with engines over 3 litres. In the BSP3 (up to 3 litres) and BSP4 (over 3 litres) classes, more heavily modified cars compete, and models such as Audi RS, BMW M and Porsche Cayman/911 also fall into BSP4.

It should be reminded that displacement for turbocharged or supercharged engines is multiplied by a 1.7 coefficient. The BP2 and BP OPEN classes are intended for race cars with a full safety cage – BP2 for engine capacities up to 2 litres, while BP OPEN is for cars with engines over 2 litres. If you are not sure which class your car should compete in, feel free to contact Baltic Time Attack through its social media profiles on Facebook or Instagram. More information can be found in the regulations – https://balticracingseries.eu/images/BaTA_2026_SR_Official.pdf.

To take part in the competition, it is necessary to obtain a licence. Latvian participants in road car classes (BS2, BS3, BS4, BSP3 and BSP4) can compete with LAF Standard Automobile Commission Superlaps or SAK annual licences, while drivers in race car classes (BP2 and BP OPEN) need a LAF Circuit Racing Commission C-level licence. Lithuanian drivers must choose a C (amateur) licence through their LASF federation, while Estonian drivers must apply for a “Rahvaspordi” licence through their EAL federation.

Registration for the first round is available at https://balticracingseries.eu/registration?view=form. Although it will be possible to register on-site on race day as well, we encourage everyone to do it online in advance. More information about the competition series is available both at https://www.balticracingseries.eu and on Baltic Time Attack’s social media channels on Facebook un Instagram.
