At the end of this month – on 30th August – as part of the major Pärnu Summer Race 2026 circuit racing event the second round of the Baltic Time Attack series will take place at the modern Porsche Ring circuit in Pärnu, Estonia. The strongest representatives of the Time Attack discipline from across the Baltics will line up on the starting grid, but those who are only taking their first steps in motorsport and wish to test themselves on the safest circuit racing track in the Baltics are also warmly welcome. Participation in the event can also be combined with a great family getaway, enjoying the adrenaline on the track as well as the SPA facilities and other off-track entertainment offered by the Estonian resort town.
Let us remind you that after a five-year break, Baltic Time Attack returned last season as a series where the fastest representatives of this discipline from across the Baltics could meet and compete. It should be noted that in recent years the local Time Attack series – Best Lap (Estonia), MANO Superlaps (Latvia), and Ring Challenge (Lithuania) – have attracted an ever-growing number of participants. Therefore, Baltic Time Attack series was created to bring together the most ambitious drivers from each country. In the future, drivers from Poland and Finland may also potentially join the Baltic competitors.
The opening round of the season, held in early May as part of the WashCar Riga Summer Race 2026, brought together 23 competitors on the starting grid. Among them were both drivers who had already competed in Baltic Time Attack last season and newcomers to the series. The strongest competition, with eight drivers, was in the BS3 class, where Estonian Kermo Vahejoe claimed victory ahead of Latvian Mārtiņš Spīķis and Lithuanian Robertas Pikelis. In the BS4 classification, Estonian Tonuri Nurmeots took the win, while Latvian Jurijs Ivanovs was victorious in BSP3. Meanwhile, in the BSP4 class, the top three positions among five competitors were claimed by three Latvian drivers – Igors Voroņins, Mārtiņš Lukstiņš, and Adrians Apsītis.
While the above-mentioned were production car classes, the classifications for fully roll-caged race cars were dominated this time by Lithuanian drivers. Vykintas Šakalis won the BP2 class, while the BP Open podium consisted of Karolis Bledis, Tomas Isiūnas, and Lukas Samulionis.
Speaking about the Baltic Time Attack series classes, there are seven in total. Five of them are intended for street cars – BS2, BS3, BS4, BSP3, and BSP4. The first three classes – BS2, BS3, and BS4 – divide production cars according to engine displacement: BS2 is for engines up to 2 litres, BS3 for engines from 2 to 3 litres, and BS4 for engines over 3 litres. BSP3 (up to 3 litres) and BSP4 (over 3 litres) are intended for more extensively modified cars, while BSP4 also includes models such as Audi RS, BMW M, Porsche Cayman/911, and similar vehicles.
It should be remembered that turbocharged and supercharged engines have their displacement multiplied by a coefficient of 1.7. The BP2 and BP Open classes are intended for race cars equipped with a full safety roll cage – BP2 for engines up to 2 litres, while BP Open is for engines over 2 litres. To take part in the competition, a licence is required. Latvian drivers can obtain one at www.laflicences.lv – participants in the production car classes (BS2, BS3, BS4, BSP3, and BSP4) may compete with LAF Standard Automobile Commission Superlaps or annual SAK licences, while drivers in the race car classes (BP2 and BP Open) require a Level C licence issued by the LAF Circuit Racing Commission. Lithuanian drivers should obtain a Category C (amateur) licence from their national federation, while Estonian drivers should apply for a Rahvaspordi licence through their federation.
